The last couple of days have been interesting to say the least! Our thoughts and prayers go out to our neighbors near and far who have experienced the flooding, loss of power, downed trees, fires, and all the other bad things. In the coming days we will begin again - to heal, to put things back to normal, clean up, rebuild etc. And where we can help, we should. One of the coolest things I have seen is on Facebook. Believe it or not, someone put a call out for yarn shops that may be damaged/flooded/needing help. We are watching carefully to see what we can do- hands, extra help etc. Made me feel good that we help our own.
Honey and I were fortunate this time. We didn't "inherit" any trees from the neighboring apartment complex. We've had 2 trees in previous storms land in our yard wiping out power for the neighborhood. The complex doesn't trim their trees and they've been there for over 30 years.
So I spent the last two days doing a lot of knitting. I needed a break. So Honey & I ventured down to the shop to check things out. A few good sized branches had broken off the trees so we cleaned those up; checked windows, etc and then entered the shop. Was al ittle concerned that water may have leaked into storage but ... it hadn't. Everything is dry. Got computer up and running.
So we will open Wednesday at 10AM - no tricks! Hopefully our UPS man will be stopping by and we will be receiving a couple of shipments of new yarns.
