Have I been lazy? Have I been dreaming? Where has this year gone already? Good Lord, it's July already!!!
I was just gazing along at several blogs and one caught my eye. Probably because it has been the topic of conversation recently. The Yarn Harlot wrote about how she had neglected to finish a pair of socks and would likely end up in therapy over it. You see we have been discussing the amount of UFO's each of us has.
Jo continues to finish and add to her project list. Mine stays pretty consistent - unless I have to count all of those second socks. In truth, none have been cast onto needles - so they don't count, right?
If I have to count them - well there are about 30-40 of them. I haven't counted recently but that's close. In my defense...(what defense you ask) I make one for the shop and put the remaining yarn in the "bag". when I no longer have the yarn in the shop or that colorway is no longer made, I bring it home, wrap it around the ball of yarn and it sits and waits for me to get to knitting it. I usually have one in each car and work on it until it's done.
Well with hand issues this year, holding those tiny needles was a bit painfulllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll! And then the fall and I haven't knit with anything smaller than a #4 since. I'm gaining on it and hopefully will be casting on at least one sock in the near future.
So my UFO count is 10 and I'm sticking to it. Once the Christmas stockings are done, I can begin to finish some of them. Hopefully before summer is over because we all know what that means.
Fall yarns arrive and the madness begins all over again. There are so many projects on my list - how will I ever get them all done. no sleep for the wicked.
How many UFOs will you admit to?
