I love the fall in the northeast. It is so colorful when the leaves are changing - bright oranges, yellows and soft greens. What I don't like is raking up all the leaves. Actually I don't mind the raking. It's the wind that just begins to blow after I'm done raking. And it looks like I hadn't done anything at all. When I turned around to look at the good job I had done and saw..... all the leaves (new and old) all over the yard again I lost it. I marched into the garage, hung the rake and broom and went into the house. I washed up and walked over to the couch and informed my hubby (who is healing) that I was DONE!
And I began to knit.
It's amazing how quickly I settled down. Knit for awhile. Took a break to load and unload the washer/dryer and read for awhile. Then knit again. I finished the Coquille shawl and 28's Cousin 53, both found on Ravelry.com. I washed them in Eucalan to experiment and find out if there was excess color to run off. the Coquille shawl was knit in Crazy Zauberball reds/purples and had just a little bit of excess color. The Cousin 53 was knit in Kureyon Sock Yarn and I can't wait to see how soft it got. I'll take pics tonite when they are dry.
So now I'm knitting Oscilloscope from Knitscene Fall 2010 in Zauberball Starke 6 (a DK weight) shaded from dark blue to white. It's really cool. Can't wait to see how the stripes continue as the shawl gets wider. Of course, pics to follow.
What's your week like? We still have a couple of openings in the Entrelac Scarf class. We also teach you how to knit 'backwards' in this class. Come on in - Wednesday Oct 20 @7PM.
