The Best Laid Plans...

As many of you know I've been diligently preparing to have a total knee replacement in July. Well as they say, the best laid plans....

On Friday June 12th, I awoke with a lot of pain in the right side. I quickly did an inventory - no appendix, no gall bladder so what is IT???? Though maybe some kind of intestinal thinggyyy. What did I eat yada, yada? After a period of time, Honey (my everlovin better half) called the doctor. (he actually wanted to go to the ER but I overruled him) So off to the doctor's office. As soon as Doc saw me, he said, well the only choice you have is how you go to the.... ER (yep, shoulda listened - 'cause I'm stilllll hearing about that one). We went by ambulance to the local hospital and after several hours of exams, CAT scans, ultra sounds, etc I went into surgery at 10PM Friday nite.

They tried to do everything Laproscopically (sp?) but it required an 8" bikini scar as well. They removed both ovaries, tubes and 2 cyctic masses, one on each ovary - one weighed about 1lb. And now I recover.

And the good news in that the masses are 100% cancer-free!!! YEAH, thank God and all the prayers and good wishes that poured in.

We don't always realize just how many wonderful people are in our lives or we take them for granted. Well, not anymore! Knitters and crocheters are the bestest folks ever and always ready, willing and able to step in and help, offer consolation, cook a meal, run an errand or just keep ya company.

Thanks to all of you who have done any of the above, You are too numerous to mention. Yeah, you all know me so well. There are 2 - Rae-Ann and Alice, two of my teachers who stepped in and are keeping the store open as much as possible until I can come back. They have taken on a tremendous amount of work and I deeply appreciate it. And it's your time to get to know them better and take advantage of their awesome skills. So stop in and meet or visit with them.

I'm allowed back a couple of hours a day starting 7/1. And now it's time for a nap. after that, well maybe we'll try the worsted weight shawl....
