Rain, rain go away....

Well, it's Sunday and we're getting ready for football. I hear the groans out there but a trick I've learned (altho I do like some football)is to knit and occassionaly look up and make a comment. I think Honey has caught on over the years but he doesn't say anything. He actually brags to friends that I'm a great wife 'cause I will sit and watch it all with him. It helps that I'm basically lazy but ... it's a great way to squeeze in extra knitting time!

On Saturday I taught a 9 yr old how to crochet. She had learned the basics at camp last summer but needed a refresher and some help starting a hat. It was so much fun. Sometimes, we get so caught up in teaching grown-ups we forget to take the time to nurture the future. And they learn so quickly too. Kids don't question like adults somtimes do because of our life experiences that can get in the way. Like, there's only one right way to do something.

I've been reading a lot on several blogs recently about this very topic. We hope to encourage folks to try things. Sometimes there is only one way that will be successful; however, there are other times that there might be 'a better mousetrap' out there. So don't let people tell you you can't, try it and say I can! Just like there are differences between teaching methods and it is unfair to compare teaching styles while attending a class. Please be respectful of the person offering their wisdom and skills and to the other students in the class. If we open our ears and minds, we can learn something from each one of us because we are all unique and have something to offer.

That being said, I'm off to knit. Have a great day!
