I hate coats! And... coats never fit right because of being "undertall"! they are too long in the waist, just plain too long or the shoulders don't fit right or something. I know it's me but it's the coat's fault, right???
So I tend to wear short coats or jackets or ruana's or knitted sweaters, heavy knitter sweaters. Einstein coat comes to mind! Made one? Share it!
So when I decided to teach this class last spring, I read the pattern (never) and took measurements. Then I realized that the young lady who designed this must be a bit taller and thinner (we won't go there), I knew I needed to make some changes.
Fortunately, this is a top-down construction with a twist. Loved it. Decided to eliminate the flared cable on the bottom half and just carry the central three cable down. Used a twisted rib at the waist, bottom edge and cuffs of sleeves. Of course I shortened the jacket part and the sleeves.
And now that it's blocked I will shorten the sleeves again! About 1-1.5 inches. Oh, I have short arms. So here it is. And now it's cool enough to wear!
