Then it got cloudy and I figured Oh well, may as well finish that sweater I've been carrying around for 2 months now. All I had to do was the neckline, sew side seams and edge armholes. So I knit the neck, sewed the seams and then looked at the armholes.
Now I love the yarn I used - 2nd Time Cotton from Knit One, Crochet Too. But did I really want to wind another whole skein for a couple of rows on the armholes. I had made the armholes a little smaller this time because last time they were a little gappy (word?) on me. So I knew I didn' need a lot to fill in. And I had so little left. What to do??
I may have had 1 1/2 yards of yarn left. Hmmmm! How about a slip stitch crocheted edge? Could I mae it? I did the first one - liked it. Don't tuck in the ends in case I have to rip.
And I began the second one. Coming up the back side of the armhole the yarn kept getting shoter and shorter. Could I make it? Just like the little engine that could, I ended up with about 4 1/2 inches left after tying off. So to make sure I feel confident I will get out the Fray-chek tonite and put it on the ends.
