Well, it's that time of year when we all make resolutions to carry us forward. I've read some really good ones. Like using up all my stash yarns! Yeah, that'll happen. My stash is my retirement plan. I occasionally fondle and pet it, examine for the just right color I need and realize that - in this craft room of mine- I don't have it. And so, another addition is made. Just like a soap opera, time goes on.
A couple of years ago, in an effort to reduce my stash, I allowed myself to knit one new project and then one from stash. The new project had to be small so it got finished. I reduced my stash significantly. So now it's time to build again.
In my effort to keep my New Year resolution I have acquired some new yarns that are very tempting!
The first one is Trill, a sock yarn that has been dyed by a local Indie dyer. Her name is Alice and she teaches at Colonial too. This yarn is an exclusive! It's 75% wool, 25% nylon and soft. Alice's colors are absolutely great. I chose at least 4 of them to be my first, and then changed the order again because I couldn't decide. Yardage is great at 400 yds. Stop in a check them out while we still have them.
Need something special for a beautiful shawl or a great pair of socks! We also have Pizzicato which is a fingering weight yarn with silver - yep, real silver! It's gorgeous. Can't say enough about this beauty. This is also dyed by Altobish ( aka Alice).
We also got in Cascades' Heritage Paints sock yarn. It has a great feel and yardage too.
We survived Knitters' New Year and actually made it to, ho-hum, 11:15 PM. Those midnight days are few and far between any more. Did make it on the Eve, though! I was proud of me since it was the first in several years. We had 20 kniters and crocheters jammed into the shop for good times, eats and laughs. What a way to start the year.
